Jeremy and Elena are back to school after their parents deaths. Now living with their aunt. Who is having trouble being the responsible authoritative figure. Elena is trying to fit in with her old 'crowd' while trying to cope with the loss of her parents.
In comes Stefan, 162 year old vampire. The mysterious dark brooding new student, whom Elena sets her sights on. Elena tries to talk to him, but he avoids her as much as possible, because unknown to her. She is the doppelganger, of his 'deceased' lover. Making it hard for him to allow himself to care for her.
Then enter Damon. The not so mysterious, cruel, manipulative brother of Stefan. Whom loved Katherine too. He comes back to Mystic Falls, after hearing his brother has returned and too free Katherine. The c. 165-169 year old Vampire too has his eye on Elena, when he sees how much like Katherine she looks.
Will Elena be like Katherine and trick them both, or will she choose one brother?
When new dangers appear in Mystic Falls? Will it ever be safe? Has Katherine Returned? Will Stefan or Damon fall into Katherine's grasp once again?
